A few weeks ago my brother woke me up in the middle of the night in a panic. He said that a drunk driver hit him while he was driving home, and he needed a ride home from the hospital. My brother said that he only needed a few stitches for a laceration on his forehead, but he was devastated that his pickup truck was completely destroyed. A tow truck had taken away my brother's brand new truck in pieces, and my brother knew that he would never drive his truck again.

A few days after by brother got out of the hospital, he tried calling his insurance company to find out about his truck. The insurance company said that it would take them at least a week to process paperwork and get a check to my brother. My brother was extremely disappointed when he was told that he would only likely be given a few thousand dollars for his truck. My brother needed his pickup truck, and without it he could not haul all of his construction tools, materials and equipment that he needed for his job. My brother informed his boss of his predicament, but the construction foreman told my brother without a truck he could not perform his job. My brother was put on leave, and he tried to find himself transportation.

My brother spent an entire month catching rides from friends and family members, and he felt angry that he couldn't go anywhere without asking for a transportation hand out. My brother is hoping to get a used truck soon, but he has so many bills to pay because he hasn't been able to work without a vehicle. My brother is still waiting around for his insurance check, but he knows if he waits any longer his boss will fire him and find a new worker to take his place. My brother is frustrated by his no win situation. I hope he can get back on his feet soon, because I can see how difficult his Michigan auto accident has been for him.
